Bogalusa City Schools is excited to announce a significant increase in its District Performance Score. The district has improved by 3.4 points, achieving a District Performance Score (DPS) of 63.5, corresponding to a "C" letter grade for the 2023-2024 school year!
Congratulations to Bogalusa High School for an impressive growth of 6.7 points and to Northshore Charter School for a notable increase of 2.7 points. Both schools have earned a "C" letter grade for the 2023-2024 school year, with Bogalusa High School achieving a score of 64.8 and Northshore Charter attaining a score of 67.0.
Central Elementary and Byrd Avenue Elementary maintained their "D" letter grades. Central Elementary, Byrd Avenue Primary, and Northshore Charter all received an "A" for K-8 Progress, while Bogalusa High School earned a "B" for both High School and K-8 Progress. These letter grades demonstrate that students at all four schools are meeting their state growth targets for academic success.
BCS also wishes to recognize Byrd Avenue for receiving a perfect score of 150 points for Interests and Opportunities, the highest score in the district. Additionally, Bogalusa High School received the highest Dropout Credit Accumulation Index (DCAI) score of any 6th-8th grade school in the district at 129.9, indicating its effectiveness in academically preparing junior high students for high school success and providing the most opportunities for Carnegie units at the junior high level.
The ongoing improvement in the District Performance Score, along with the Progress Letter grades of "A" and "B," clearly demonstrates BCS's commitment to enhancing academic achievement for our students.
