In the wake of last night's unimaginable tragedy that has befallen our school community, we find ourselves grappling with profound sorrow. Although this incident occurred off campus, it was close enough to have an adverse effect on the school event that was taking place. We value everyone's safety and concerns; the remaining home basketball games will be played away or at a neutral site. As a resilient community, we will rise above the grief that weighs heavily on our hearts. Let us channel our sorrow into a shared commitment to support one another so we can heal and emerge stronger and more compassionate by standing united. As a precaution, we will provide extra security for Bogalusa High School when school resumes on Tuesday, and grief counselors will be available for staff and students. The Lumberjack family extends our sympathy and condolences to the students' families. We appreciate the phone calls, emails, and support from school districts, citizens, and stakeholders. Dr. Byron C. Hurst, Ed.D. Superintendent
